South Carolina football hosts the No. 14 ranked Auburn Tigers on Saturday for a noon kickoff at Williams-Brice Stadium on ESPN. The Gamecocks (1-2) return home after back-to-back games on the road, a loss at Florida and a win at Vanderbilt. The Tigers (2-1) are coming off a home victory over Arkansas, decided in the final minute of play. 

Dave Pasch will serve as the play-by-play voice for ESPN with Greg McElroy providing the analysis. Holly Rowe will handle the sideline reporting. 

This is the 13th all-time meeting between South Carolina and Auburn, with the Tigers holding a commanding 10-1-1 advantage, including a 3-0 record when the games have been played in Columbia and a 4-0 mark when the teams have met in Auburn. The last time they met, South Carolina went into Jordan-Hare Stadium and pushed No. 5/6 Auburn to the brink in a shootout before falling 42-35 on Oct. 25, 2014.

-- It appears the Gamecocks will be without cornerbacks Israel Mukuamu and Cam Smith today. Both were not seen when the entire team was warming up 30 minutes until kickoff. 

-- A new offensive tackle duo appears to be debuting today. Jazston Turnetine (left tackle) and Dylan Wonnum (right tackle) were announced as starters when lineups were shown on the Williams-Brice Stadium video board. 

-- Freshman quarterback/wide receiver Luke Doty was taking warmups snaps with the receivers as Collin Hill and Ryan Hilinski were taking quarterback reps. 

-- Today's Gamecock captains: Nick Muse, Brad Johnson, Shi Smith and Ernest Jones.

-- Auburn wins the coin toss and elects to differ. The Gamecocks will receive. 


-- Opening kickoff goes for a touchback. Kevin Harris takes the first carry and gets one yard. Harris again carries, gets two more yards. On 3rd and 7, contested deep ball for Xavier Legette falls incomplete. Legette got one hand on it. Kai Kroeger's punt takes a good bounce and is downed by Carolina special teamers at the 20-yard line.

-- Opening play for the Tigers is a flea flicker attempt for Anthony Schwartz, but it falls incomplete. Tank Bigsby is stopped after a gain of one yard. On 3rd and 9, Bo Nix finds D.J. Williams for a 22-yard gain. Two plays later, Seth Williams picks up a first down. After a short completion to Schwartz and an incomplete pass, Nix picks up the first down with his legs. On the next series, Bigsby picks up first down, Tigers down to the SC20. Incomplete pass to the end zone, broken up by Jaycee Horn. Nix is sacked by Keir Thomas on second down. On 3rd and 12, short pass to Schwartz is a gain of five. Field goal unit comes out. The 35-yard field goal is good. Auburn leads 3-0

-- Gamecocks again start at 25-yard line after touchback. Harris carry up the middle goes for two yards. Collin Hill is sacked on second down. The Gamecocks offensive line is getting beat in the run and pass game. On 3rd and 13, Kevin Harris breaks for 78-yard touchdown run, but a flag on the play is going to bring it all the way back. Jovaughn Gwyn called for the hold. Now on 3rd and 23, Dakereon Joyner short pass goes for no gain. Kroeger punts fair caught at the Auburn 44-yard line.

-- Tigers pick up eight yards through the air on first down. They move the chains on the next play and are now in Carolina territory at the 37-yard line. After reverse play that gains 12 yards, Bigsby gains 14 yards after breaking multiple tackles. On 1st and 10 from 11-yard line, Horn breaks up what would have been a touchdown catch. Horn breaks up another would-be touchdown, dropped by Seth Williams. Eli Stove scores a touchdown, uncovered on the slant play. The two-point conversion is no good. Auburn leads 9-0

-- Gamecocks are backed up to begin their third drive. After Shi Smith return out to the 18-yard line, a holding penalty pushes it back to the 9-yard line. Smith picks up eight yards on first down. Harris can't pick up a yard on a second down run. On 3rd and 2, Harris picks up a first down with a catch. He brings it out to the 29-yard line. Pass intended for Smith down Auburn sideline is incomplete. Smith takes a handoff from Hill and is tackled for a loss of four yards. On 3rd and 14, Auburn defensive back is called for pass interference covering Smith down the Gamecock sideline. Carolina up to 40-yard line after penalty. Pass attempt to Smith with Hill rolling out to his right is dropped. Deshaun Fenwick's first carry is a six-yard run. On 3rd and 4 from 46-yard line, Smith drops a pass. Punt unit comes out. Kroeger flips the field with a 51-yard punt that drops dead on the 3-yard line.

-- Schwartz quickly gets it out to the 25-yard line on first play of possession. First quarter ends with the Tigers facing a 3rd and 6 on 29-yard line. END Q1: Auburn 9 – Carolina 0


-- False start makes it 3rd and 11. Horn hauls in an interception as Nix scrambled and threw off balance. It's the first interception of Horn's career at South Carolina. Gamecocks take over on Tigers' 29-yard line. After a Harris 4-yard run, Smith picks up first down, up to 16-yard line. Harris carries up the middle four yards. Harris picks up first down with a catch out of the backfield. It's first and goal at the 3-yard line. Harris punches it in, but play is being reviewed. It's upheld, touchdown for the sophomore tailback. Auburn leads 9-7

-- Touchback. After two short runs by Bigsby, Nix picks up first down on designed run play. Nix throws up a 50-50 ball that is somehow caught by Seth Williams over Jaycee Horn at the 15-yard line. Bigsby takes it down to the 2-yard line. There is question for a fumble, but it appears he was down. No review of the play. Will Muschamp calls timeout with Carolina's defense backed up as far as possible. Bigsby hardly gets touched as he goes up the middle for the touchdown. That was a 7-play, 75-yard drive, highlighted by 44-yard catch catch by Williams over Horn. Auburn leads 16-7

-- Touchback. First play is a 20-yard pick up as Hill finds Nick Muse. After a batted pass at the line of scrimmage and a Hill scramble for no gain, it's 3rd and 10 from 45-yard line. Hill is pressured and pass out to Rico Powers goes out earlier than the freshman expected. He was double covered. Punt by Kroeger is downed at the 8-yard line.

-- Williams carries six yards on first down. Two plays later, on third down, Nix picks up another first down with his legs. Williams is caught for no gain on next play. Capers drops a first down pass. On 3rd and 10, with a flag on the play, Tigers don't pick up first down. Kingsley Enagbare called for offsides, five-yard penalty and now 3rd and 5 from 39-yard line. Tipped pass breakup by Horn and Jaylin Dickerson intercepts it. Gamecocks take over at Tigers' 49-yard line.

-- Back-to-back two-yard gains for Fenwick. Hill then finds Smith for first down. On the next play, same connection goes for six yards. Fenwick picks up first down, up to 23-yard line. Fenwick gets it again, picks up another six yards. Fenwick picks up two more yards. Gamecocks go hurry up and Fenwick gets just enough. Harris replaces him. Hill goes to Josh Vann and he picks up the first down, stopped at 2-yard line. Harris picks up a yard. With :42 left on the game clock, Muschamp takes a timeout. Auburn counters with a timeout after Gamecocks come out in goal line package with full back Adam Prentice. Hill pushes the ball over himself for a touchdown. It's going to be reviewed. It's upheld. Auburn leads 16-14, :35 left in the first half

-- Mitch Jeter kicks the ball out of bounds. Tigers start possession at 35-yard line with two timeouts. First down pass play is incomplete. Second down is a five-yard pickup. Stove picks up first down. Nix runs out of bounds, no gain. With clocked stopped and three seconds left to play on Auburn 49-yard line, Muschamp takes final timeout of the half. Nix is sacked. HALFTIME: Auburn 16 – Carolina 14



-- Touchback. Short gains on first and second downs for Tigers. On 3rd and 10, offsides on Carolina. On next play, Horn called for defensive holding. Tigers then pick up two more first downs, up to SC27. R.J. Roderick injured on play. Tigers pick up six more yards on the possession and Carlson's 38-yard field goal is good. Auburn leads 19-14

-- Touchback. Harris gains eight yards on first down carry. He's a half yard short for the first down on next play. He picks up the first down and Auburn is called for facemask penalty. Gamecocks have ball at 50-yard line. Screen pass to Smith picks up five yards. Incomplete pass intended for Legette. Harris picks up first down a lot more. It's a 19-yard gain down to the 26-yard line. Fenwick then carries it down tot he 8-yard line. Hill scrambles, loss of two on the play. Offsides, free play, jump ball and Smith comes down with it. Now Gamecocks go for two and it fails. However, Gamecocks have their first lead. That was a 9-play, 75-yard drive. South Carolina leads 20-19

-- Auburn takes kickoff out to 31-yard line. Batted pass on first down. Nix picks up one yard on second down. Incomplete pass. Punt is fair caught by Jammie Robinson at 28-yard line.

-- Dakereon Joyner picks up 14 yards on reverse play. Harris follows with a four-yard run, lowers his shoulder. Harris picks up three more yards. On 3rd and 3 from 50-yard line, deep pass intended for Keveon Mullins is incomplete, but called defensive pass interference. Gamecocks now up to Auburn's 35-yard line. Harris picks up four yards on the ground. After Adam Prentice picks up first down with a reception, Hill's intended pass for Dakereon Joyner is tipped and picked off, no return. 

-- Auburn beings possession at 18-yard line. On second down, Schwartz picks up first down. On 3rd down and 7, Nix pass intended for Williams is picked off by Horn and returned to 8-yard line. 

-- On first play, Harris jogs it in for the score, untouched. South Carolina leads 27-19

-- Touchback. Nix rushes for four yards. Incomplete for Schwartz. On 3rd and 6 from 29-yard line with :16 left in the quarter, Malzahn takes timeout. Nix rushes about a yard short of the marker, but Auburn is called for a hold. Now 3rd and 16 from 19-yard line, but running clock ends the quarter. END Q3: South Carolina 27 – Auburn 19


-- Almost like the huge Carolina touchdown that was negated in the first quarter, a huge, field-flipping catch and run by Williams is called by due to a holding call. Auburn picks up a few yards on next play, but is short of the marker and has to put. Gamecocks will get it at their own 21-yard line.

-- Botched snap on first down forced Hill to fall on top of the ball, a loss of five yards. Fenwick picks up those five yards and a few more to make it 3rd and 7 from the 24-yard line. Smith with an acrobatic catch picks up 32 yards to the Auburn 44-yard line. Hill to Muse for nine yards and then Fenwick moves the chains with a 8-yard run. Fenwick again, for four yards. Incomplete pass intended for Mullins. Fenwick picks up two more yards, but can't move the chains. Parker White's 39-yard line gives the Gamecocks a two-score lead with 9:13 left to play. South Carolina leads 30-19

-- Touchback. Auburn's biggest play of the day is popped off by Bigsby, a 30-yard run down his sideline. Then a 19-yard pickup to the 26-yard line. Then another big run by Bigsby has it on the 7-yard line, first and goal. Bigsby is stopped on for a gain of one. Williams is stopped after a gain of one. On 3rd and goal from the 5-yard line, Nix pass into the end zone is incomplete. Tigers field goal unit comes out. Carlson's 22-yard field goal is good. That was a 7-play, 70-yard scoring drive for the Tigers. South Carolina leads 30-22, 6:36 left

-- Touchback. Gamecocks go on the ground with Harris three straight plays. He just picks up the first down on third down. Harris gets three yards, then no gain, then defensive pass interference on third down. Carolina moves into Auburn territory, up to 48-yard line with 3:26 left to play. Harris with a loss of three yards on first down. Malzahn takes his second timeout of the second half. Harris picks up those three yards back, but that's it. Malzahn takes his final timeout, Gamecocks facing 3rd and 10 on 48-yard line with 3:13 left to play. Mike Bobo and Muschamp elect to keep it on the ground to keep the clock rolling. Punt unit comes out for Gamecocks. Kroeger can't pin it as it bounces into the end zone, which will bring it out to the 20-yard line, 2:15 left to play.
