Robbie Williams' fast-paced life is set to be laid bare in a new biopic that will "explore his demons".

The former Take That heart-throb is going to be immortalised in film – and it appears no subject will be off limits.

Titled Better Man, it will chart the rise and fall of the pop star and is certain to examine his off-stage battles with drink and drugs, as well as his high-profile showbiz fall-outs.

Former addict Robbie is also an ex-alcoholic and his story will be brought to life by Greatest Showman director Michael Gracey.

Fans may not have to wait long either as the tell-all film is already in the works, according to US outlet Deadline.

Nothing will be off limits in the new biopic – and fans can't wait

Director Gracey said that the biopic will explore Robbie's "demons" with the singer speaking for many hours with the film director.

He told the outlet: "As for how we represent Robbie in the film, that bit is top secret. I want to do this in a really original way.

"I remember going to the cinema as a kid and there were films that blew me away and made me say as I sat there in the cinema, 'I've never seen this before.' I just want the audience to have that feeling."

Robbie checked into rehab in 2007 after taking speed, acid, heroin, cocaine and "heart-stopping" amounts of prescription drugs.

He previously admitted he was just "hours away from death" at the height of his addiction.

The star said in 2009: "I would do 20 Vicodin in a night. I might have been 24 hours away from dying.

"Then I'd take Adderall, which was like speed for people with ADHD. I'd be doing colossal, heart-stopping amounts of that.

His high-profile showbiz rows are expected to feature

"You can buy Sativa, which is basically LSD for five minutes. It's powerful stuff. That's where I was. You try your best to balance them off against each other but you never manage it.

"It was the American addiction. Prescription pills. It wasn't the best period of my life. You see Anna Nicole Smith goes off - pills. Michael Jackson goes off - pills. And Heath Ledger. I can relate to all of that."

Robbie's sex and love life could also be brought up

Gracey has said that the biopic will focus on the singer being an "everyman".

"Unlike some people who were born prodigies or musical geniuses and you follow the narrative of the world catching up to their brilliance, this isn't that story," Gracey said.

"Robbie is that Everyman, who just dreamed big and followed those dreams and they took him to an incredible place."
