Could this possibly be the best high-end Black Friday TV deal of the year? Right now Amazon has dropped the price of the fantastic LG C1 65" 4K OLED Smart TV. This best-in-class TV normally retails for $2499.99. We've seen it for as low as $1499.99 on Amazon Prime Day, but even that deal pales in comparison to the one that's available right now. If pristine picture quality is what you're gunning for, there's no good reason why you'd be looking at any other Black Friday TV at this point.
Black Friday Deal: 65" LG C1 4K OLED TV for $1199.99
If money isn't an object, OLED TVs are considered the best TVs you can buy right now. Compared to traditional LED LCD TVs, they offer better image quality, deeper blacks, better contrast ratio, wider color gamut, and super fast response times. It makes an outstanding gaming TV thanks to its inclusion of HDMI 2.1 for 4K @ 120Hz which is perfect for PS5 and Xbox Series X gamers, VRR (variable refresh rate), G-SYNC (which is sort of redundant because it's similar to VRR), and ALLM. It also supports HGiG if you're looking for premade HDR presets for gaming.
Among OLED TVs, LG is often considered the flag bearer; it's the one TV that all other OLED TVs are compared against. The LG OLED TV boasts several generations of optimizations under its belt. The C1 is a 2021 model that has been succeeded by this year's LG Evo C2. That said, the C2 is an incremental upgrade and cost several hundred dollars more right now. The difference in image quality between the C1 and the new Evo C2 is minor. The main reason you'd want to spend more is if you have too much lighting in your room that you can't control (the Evo C2 is brighter) or you move your TV around (the Evo C2 is about 35% lighter). If neither of these apply to you, take the C1 and keep some pocket change.
