Ben Stiller had a blast filming the "top secret" sequel to Happy Gilmore — and it doesn't sound as if his character has gotten any nicer.

In November, fans learned that he will appear again as "Hal L.," a nursing home orderly in the beloved 1996 comedy, after paparazzi captured photos of him on set with Adam Sandler. Stiller told Yahoo Entertainment that "there's nothing like being" on a set with his friend.

"We can't let any details out, but honestly, it was so much fun," Stiller said, while promoting his holiday film Nutcrackers. "How often do you get to play such a ridiculous character? I guess over the years, I've had a chance to play a few, but this one, he's just so mean and he just hates Happy so much. You don't have to worry about having any redeeming qualities or being likable, which is great."

Stiller said Sandler, who plays the title character in Happy Gilmore, helped make filming the highly anticipated sequel a "great experience."

"Adam's a really good friend of mine, and anytime we have a chance to work together, it's just always fun. There's nothing like being in an Adam Sandler movie on an Adam Sandler set. ... There's a lot of laughs," Stiller said. "So I'm excited. I had a fun time."

Details of the film have been kept under wraps, but aside from Stiller, another famous name is attached: Travis Kelce. When asked if they had any scenes together, Stiller said they didn't. However, the actor is a fan of both Kelce and his superstar girlfriend, Taylor Swift.

"I did not cross paths with Travis, but I did go to Taylor's last concert, and it's amazing. Amazing. And I did see [Travis] from afar," Stiller replied.

For now, you can catch Stiller in his "heartwarming" new film Nutcrackers, where he was excited to play a character with some redeeming qualities.

"[It] reminded me of movies that I watched when I was younger. It just was so not cynical, and so heartwarming and so fun," he told Yahoo.

Nutcrackers is streaming on Hulu now.
