Bournemouth have signed teenage Serbian defender Veljko Milosavljevic for £13m from Red Star Belgrade and taken full-back Alex Jimenez on loan from AC Milan.

Milosavljevic, 18, has represented his country at under-21s level and agreed a five-year contract with the Cherries.

The deal for 20-year-old Jimenez, a Spain youth international, will become a permanent deal for £16.5m if he makes 18 Premier League starts this season.

Milosavljevic made 14 league appearances for Red Star Belgrade in the Serbian top flight and became the third youngest debutant in the history of the club.

"It was always my dream to play in the Premier League as it is the best league in the world," he said.

"I'm very happy to be part of the Bournemouth family. I can't wait to meet the team-mates, staff and fans of the club.

"I can't wait to start working with [manager] Andoni Iraola as I've seen the progress that young players can make working with him."

Bournemouth have had a busy summer, having lost defenders Illia Zabarnyi, Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez for a combined total of about £150m to Paris St-Germain, Real Madrid and Liverpool respectively.

Milosavljevic and Jimenez will provide Iraola with another defensive option following the signings of centre-back Bafode Diakite for £34.6m from Lille, left-back Adrien Truffert from Rennes for £14.4m and goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic for £25m from Chelsea.

Jimenez came through Real Madrid's academy and said: "It has always been one of my dreams to play in the Premier League."

The Cherries also sold forward Dango Ouattara to Brentford for £42.5m and have had a record selling window, with £215m in incoming transfer fees.

Ben Gannon-Doak joined the club from champions Liverpool for £25m earlier in the summer, while Moroccan winger Amine Adli arrived from Bayer Leverkusen for £25.1m.

Also on deadline day, home-grown Cherries midfielder Ben Winterburn, 20, joined League Two side Barnet on a season-long loan.

Bournemouth have won two of their first three Premier League matches of the season, including a 1-0 away victory at Tottenham on Saturday to sit seventh in the table.

Milosavljevic and Jimenez could make their debuts in their next game, at home against Brighton on Saturday, 13 September.
