The race for the Major League Baseball play-offs concludes this weekend and you can watch all the key moments of the finale on the BBC.

Most teams will play their last game of the regular season on Sunday, with 15 games taking place simultaneously from 20:00 BST.

However, two more games - which could decide the last play-off spot - will be played on Monday, only 40 minutes apart.

The final two games of last week's three-game series between the Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets were postponed because of Hurricane Helene.

There will be plenty at stake on Sunday, though, as play-off hopefuls fight to keep their chances of reaching the World Series alive - and you can watch it unfold live on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app.

What's at stake during MLB finale?

Twelve of MLB's 30 teams qualify for the post-season, with six each from the American League and National League - the three division winners in each league, plus the three teams with the next best records.

The division winners have been confirmed, plus four of the wildcard spots, so two play-off places are still up for grabs.

However, the teams who have booked their ticket to the post-season still have home-field advantage to play for.

Aaron Judge (New York Yankees) and Shohei Ohtani (Los Angeles Dodgers), favourites for Most Valuable Player award in their respective leagues, also lie on the cusp of more history.

Judge set an American League record of 62 home runs in 2022 and has 58 this season after hitting a homer in each of his past five games.

Ohtani became the first player to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a season and his figures now read 54-57. With two games left, could the Japanese superstar reach 60-60?

Both are in with a shout of becoming the first player in 12 years - and only the second in 57 - to win the batting Triple Crown for leading their league for home runs, RBIs (runs batted in) and batting average.

Standings and permutations

The Orioles have a better record than the Astros but the Astros have qualified for the post-season by winning the American League West division

The Yankees, the Cleveland Guardians and the Houston Astros won their divisions in the American League.

The Yankees and the Guardians have secured the top two seeds so will receive a bye to the second round of the play-offs - the division series.

With two games remaining, the Yankees need one more win to secure the top seed and home advantage for the championship series - should they progress from the division series.

The Baltimore Orioles secured the first AL wildcard spot, and Friday's results meant that the Detroit Tigers and the Kansas City Royals clinched the other two.

In the National League, the Dodgers, the Philadelphia Phillies and the Milwaukee Brewers won their divisions, with the Dodgers needing one more win to finish clear of the Phillies.

The San Diego Padres have secured a wildcard spot, with the Atlanta Braves, the New York Mets and the Arizona Diamondbacks battling it out for the other two.

Key match-ups for MLB finale

The American League's play-off spots have been decided, ruling out the Minnesota Twins' chances of sneaking in, but the Orioles will want to keep winning after claiming the first game of their series on Friday.

The Tigers won the first game of their series with the Chicago White Sox on Friday, making it 10 wins from 11 as the White Sox suffered a record 121st defeat of the season.

The Yankees host the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Astros claimed the first game of their series at the Guardians on Friday, and those teams could meet again in the post-season.

The Royals are at the Braves, who have chased down the Mets and the Diamondbacks by winning the past four games.

Atlanta returned to action in Georgia on Friday and their Truist Park home will also be the venue for Monday's double-header, but first the Mets face a challenging trip to Milwaukee. They lost the first game on Friday.

The Diamondbacks, beaten by the Texas Rangers in last year's World Series, lost the first game of their series at home to the San Diego Padres, while the Dodgers and the Phillies end the regular season at the Colorado Rockies and the Washington Nations respectively.
