Leicester Tigers men & women to share double bill

Mattioli Woods Welford Road will stage two games for the price of one on 3 December

Leicester Tigers men's & women's sides are to play home league games on the same day for the first time at Welford Road on Sunday, 3 December.

Tigers women will then face local rivals Loughborough Lightning in the newly rebranded Premiership Women's Rugby (17:30 GMT).

The two teams have shared one double bill before, but not for league games.

In November 2022, the men's team played an Italian-select XV before the women set the record for the highest attendance in any domestic rugby fixture outside the Premiership - 3,523 for the Championship North derby against Loughborough.

The record for an England Women's attendance was also set at Welford Road in the 2021-22 season when more than 15,000 turned up to see the Red Roses beat Ireland in the Six Nations.
