Linfield v Larne headlines last Irish Premiership action of 2024

Runaway leaders Linfield host champions Larne in the headline fixture on Monday night in the last Irish Premiership action of 2024.

Following a busy Boxing Day, Monday sees another full round of matches with all six games kicking off at 19:45 GMT.

Victory could open up a 15-point lead for Linfield depending on other results, while a win at Windsor Park would move David Healy's side 25 points clear of Larne.

The Invermen have six games in hand, of course, but defeat would prove a significant psychological blow heading into the second half of the campaign.

Elsewhere, this season's surprise package Dungannon Swifts travel to Solitude to face Cliftonville. The Swifts returned to winning ways on Boxing Day with a 2-1 win over Loughgall, but the Reds' struggles continued.

Jim Magilton's side have lost their last three and will be desperate to finish the year on a high before switching focus to the start of their Irish Cup defence.

It is fourth against third at Shamrock Park as Portadown host Glentoran. The Ports lost their Boxing Day derby at Glenavon and face a Glens side who have not lost since falling to a 2-0 reverse to Niall Currie's side on 16 November.

Elsewhere, Ballymena United will hope to strengthen their place inside the top six when they host Glenavon, Carrick Rangers welcome Crusaders to Taylors Avenue and strugglers Loughgall take on Coleraine at Lakeview Park.
