Ulster fly-half Billy Burns is a doubt for Saturday's Investec Champions Cup Pool 2 match against Racing 92 with an elbow injury.

The 29-year-old was seen clutching his right elbow after being replaced on the hour by Jake Flannery during the province's 37-14 loss at the Rec.

In a squad update issued on Tuesday, Ulster said Burns' fitness will be "monitored over the coming days".

Ulster have also confirmed that Ben Moxham is facing nine months on the sidelines after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear on his left knee in the United Rugby Championship defeat by Edinburgh earlier this month.

Wing Moxham joins a list of unavailable players that includes Angus Curtis, David McCann, Ben Carson, James McCormick, Ethan McIlroy, Sean Reffell and Callum Reid.

In more positive news for Ulster, who have lost their last three matches, centre Luke Marshall, full-back Will Addison and flanker Marcus Rea have all resumed training having recovered from injury.

Dan McFarland's side are hoping to bounce back against Top 14 leaders Racing after conceding 29 unanswered points to Bath on Saturday.

Racing, who are coached by former England head coach and Leinster senior coach Stuart Lancaster, are also searching for a first Pool 2 victory having been edged out 31-28 by Harlequins in a thriller in Paris last weekend.
