Wales' Stevie Williams won a second consecutive Tour of Britain stage after a burst for the line in Barnsley.
Thursday's stage three was a 166.1km hilly route starting in Sheffield, taking in the edge of the Peak District, Rotherham and Doncaster.
The Israel–Premier Tech rider, 28, narrowly beat a host of rivals on a sprint for the line, with Paul Magnier finishing second.
