LA police investigate 'apparent homicide' at Rob Reiner's home

Police are investigating an "apparent homicide" after two people were found dead at the Los Angeles home of director and actor Rob Reiner.

Firefighters were called to a house in the Brentwood neighbourhood of Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon, where they found a 78-year-old man and 68-year-old woman, the LA Fire Department said. Both were pronounced dead at the home.

Authorities did not immediately identify them or the circumstances surrounding their deaths.

Rob Reiner is 78 and his wife, Michele, is 68.

Reiner is a storied Hollywood filmmaker whose movies include classics such as The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, and This is Spinal Tap.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department said they received a call at around 15:38 local time (23:38 GMT) for medical aid to a home on Chadbourne Avenue.

Once inside the residence, two deceased people were found. Their identities have yet to be confirmed.

Authorities did not provide further details on the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
